July 1, 1997 Important Information on JMC Graphics LightRom5 LightWave3D Content FLYING DRAGON This creature was created over the course of one month's worth of spare time (Sept.1996) as a challenge in modeling an original looking Medieval Dragon. The polygon count is rather high, but I wanted it to have a lot of detail, especially in the areas of the Head, Mouth, Back, Arms, and Legs. The Wings were separated from the Body for ease of Boning. The texturing is simple and utilizes only three image maps and the proceedural textures. The Dragon was originally started on my Video Toaster Flyer 4000 using 4.0 software, but was finished on a 200mhz Sony Pentium PC (Win95) using 5.0. I think it turned out quite well... MARTIAN HEAD This character was created litterally within a day using Metaform. It harkens back to a 50's style martian with its glass bubble helmet. The eyes on this one can be animated, and it utilizes a morph target for expression and speech. MEDIEVAL WEAPONS SET This set of 7 objects was part of a set that I tried to sell commercially back in 1993. It is included here for FREE now. The Sword in particular is extremely detailed, including rune writing on the blade edge. CHOCKISS This object was an attempt to see how realistic I could model a Chocolate Kiss. Part of the key to the successful look of the object is the use of Reflection and Bump Mapping. It was created by a simple Lathe operation for the basic drop shape. The folds in the foil at the top were created using a Jitter operation on the points. DOLPHIN This scene was includes a Dolphin, an Underwater Base, animated Marker Lights, and a modified Underwater Mountain Range from a DEM. The basic Dolphin object was from the PD and was greatly modified using Stencil and Smooth Shift operations on its body to add details. C.FOXX This object was done as a challenge in creating a cartoon-like personality in a 3D character. From original concept to the final 3D object took one week of spare time. Its' eyes can be animated up and down, and its' mouth uses a Morph Target for talking. DRK SHIP This original Alien Spacecraft object was made in one afternoon. BIRD SCENE This scene was originally designed to realisticly show the flying motion of a bird. It was featured in a 3 part article I wrote for LightWave Pro (Vol.4 #5, #6, and #7 in 1996) before it was cancelled. I have included it here because the objects making up the bird and the scene were never made available to the subscribers of the Disk Series as originally intended. Enjoy! 3D EARTH This object is a very highly subdivided Sphere, Displacement Mapped with a large image of the continents. It also has a Cloud Sphere that can be animated. HORSE IN BARN This scene contains a fairly complete Barn Interior Setting. A very high-detail Horse (extremely modified from an old PD object), Saddles, Bridles, Ropes, Inner Stable Walls, Stall Fencing, Feed Box, and Floor Straw. HORSE WALK This Walking Horse scene was also featured in an article in Lightwave Pro written by me, but the objects and scene (once again) didn't appear in the Disk Series due to its cancelation. It is included here to make the scene available to those who subscribed, and to everyone who would like to learn how to do a basic four-legged walk. Enjoy! PEN GUY This object was created to use in a fake product demo animation. It was easy to make and sports two eyes, a mouth, and the pen's clip for a nose. It originally had a sequence of images that drew a line on the paper as it moved, but the sequence has since been lost. It was fun to do this one.
